Japanese Beauty Haul

Along with a suitcase full of Japanese food, I asked my parents to get me some beauty bits from Japan.
Many of them are available outside of Japan as well, so I thought I will share them on my blog.

Skin Care

Most of the items I got from Japan are skin care products. I prefer to buy makeup after trying out but those skin care products are familiar to me.

Perfect Whip (Face Wash)

This is a foaming face wash that is very gentle to your skin. I usually use with Clarisonic Mia 2 or foam up with a net and use my hands to wash my face. This does tighten your face after washing but a little bit of toner helps everything. For me, this face wash last forever (at least half a year). You need the smallest amount when using with Clarisonic or any face wash devices.

MUJI Gel Cleansing

I use this to remove makeup. This doesn’t work for waterproof mascara, so I usually use oil to remove eye makeup and use this to remove all over face makeup. This might work well for someone who has eyelash extensions. This doesn’t leave your skin oily or dry and removes makeup well. I still go on second cleansing after makeup removing.

MUJI Light Toning Water

This toner is my favorite since I was in high school. I got the big bottle, which contains 400 ml. It is a very reasonable price. This lasts me quite a long time because I like using it with a spray pump as a mist toner. Toner is a must have for my skin care. After washing my face or taking a shower at night or morning, I always spray some toner. I recommend this for someone who uses toner often, especially with a cotton pad and goes through toner fast.

MUJI All in One Essence

This is a great gel moisturizer for summer (especially for oily skin). I have dry skin but I love using it because it soaked into the skin very quickly. Great light weight moisturizer under makeup. I wouldn’t recommend this for colder or dryer season. I use this after the toner.

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel

This is a new sunscreen that I have been using since my parents got me. This has SPF 50+ and PA ++++. Must be a strong sunscreen that is good for this summer heat! This has a very fresh scent. As it claims “watery gel” it is very watery and it doesn’t leave your skin with a white filter. I only use this on my face and neck. It works great under makeup too. I use the MUJI gel moisturizer and this sunscreen and they work well together.

I only got one makeup item because I am waiting to buy more when I go back to Japan. I have been wanting to buy some products from Koh Gen Do, Annasui, and RMK.

HeroineMake Mascara (Long & Curl)

I know The Anna Edit loves this product so I gave a shot. This does hold the curl and adds length as it has some fibers. For my lashes, I need more volume. I couldn’t use this mascara, even with my favorite Dior Lash Primer. It doesn’t give enough volume. Since it is SUPER waterproof, I use this to coat on top of my usual mascara to make them waterproof. It does work and helps to hold the curl longer. Sometimes volumizing mascara doesn’t hold the curl but using two kinds of mascaras does help.

These were the all Japanese beauty products I got! I am more excited to go shopping myself in Japan. All of this products can be bought on the Internet so I hope all the links help someone interested in those. Out of all these products, I recommend the most MUJI toner and Biore sunscreen.

See you in my next blog!
